Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me
Is all the artwork created by Rod Holt?
Yes, all the artwork on the website is drawn or painted by me.
What does “giclee” and “lithographic” mean?
They are both printing processes for original artwork, which guarantee a faithful and high quality reproduction. Lithographic printing is an older method using printing plates and giclée is an inkjet based process.
What is the difference between a print and a “limited edition” print?
Both are high quality reproductions of original artwork. There is no difference in quality. Some of my work has been printed as a “limited edition”, that is a specified number (250 or 500) and the unique number is handwritten on each print (eg. 33/250) and signed by me (in pencil). If a picture has been printed unlimited (for example “In Pursuit of Excellence”), it will not be numbered or signed.
How will my order be delivered?
Deliveries to UK mainland will usually be made by Royal Mail Special Delivery (so that it can be tracked). Postage and packing is included and your print will be supplied in a sturdy postal tube. If you wish to make other arrangements, please contact me. Deliveries to other destinations will incur postal charges and these will be agreed with you before despatch.
How much would an original cost?
This varies and if you are interested in purchasing an original drawing or painting, please contact me.
Can I order prints at sizes other than those specified on the website?
Yes, giclee printing allows greater flexibility to produce one-off prints to your own specification and I am happy to discuss this with you and agree a price.
Do you supply framed prints?
Most of the prints are supplied unframed. The series of “Journey” prints can be supplied in their unique frames. If you are local to the Glossop area, I can recommend a good framer.
